Both winning and losing are parts of a game. In fact, these results are a part of life. We win things. We lose things. But the losing part is a bit more widely dispersed as compared to the winning. We lose all our loved ones over time span of life. First the grandparents. Then gradually over the years we lose all those faces whom no one can ever replace. The losing is must. Unavoidable. There are people lucky enough that they win almost every happiness of life. Like celebrities, politicians or the royals and monarchs. They are famous, rich and enjoy so many blessings and winnings in life. But even they lose. This ''LOSS'' is simply an undivided truth. Like death is inevitable, so is this loss. We lose. We die. Both losing and dying are nearly a similar shade. In a simple solving example, understand this reality that we lose our breaths and that is death.
No logical man would ever be happy on his loss, whether that be loss of a human, a friend, a family, or finances and career. No one likes loss. The losing is painful. A man loses health, he remains in agony. A man loses money, he loses colors of life. A man loses his faith, he has no life in the world-hereafter. The loss has it's deep impact and consequences. We all live a life where loss remains in bigger numbers than the winnings or gain. The loss is what we keep suffering all our life. A time comes we lose our parents or even brothers and sisters. That moment is a worst pain. But time cures all. Time has healing powers. We win children and grandchildren and ourselves become parents and grandparents. Things get to us as well. That is the winning part of our life. But we are never so much thankful on winnings as much we are grieved over loss. The loss is like a bad experience like a memory that we retain all our lives.
''Ishq'' or ''Love'' is a game. Having both a positive and negative end which are winning and losing respectively. No matter one wins or loses, love never ends. Obviously after a win, a lover is happy. And if there is a loss and the lovers part away, they live a life filled with prayers, wishes and dreams for each other. There is still winning. Love is what drives our souls. We all love whether we accept this reality or deny. In urdu there is a stanza that in simple translation means:
''If it's a game of love, stake everything and fear not! If we win, it'd be a pleasure like our wishes. Don't think about loss as there is no loss in love.''
I agree to the poet's philosophy. There is really no loss in love at all. We win. We only win. It all depends how one sees it. And love changes the way one sees so there is never a loss in love. Finally, my favorite poet Ahmed Faraz qoutes in one of his stanzas:
''Hum k nadaan jawari hain, sab he jantay hain
Dil ke baazi ho to G Jaan say haaray jayen''
Loss in love is like what we anticipate, what we desire. In other words we want a loss in life. That loss is love. At least a man wants to place his heart at the feet of his lover. He wants to lose his ego, his wishes, his anger, his prestige, his pride, his esteems and finally his heart at the feet of his lover because...... When a man loses his heart, he loses everything!
